The design house FUBU is putting the cool into workplace fashion with a new line of scrubs and workwear from licensee Green Town.
The new collection is designed to be comfortable and durable, yet fashionable, with the line set for release in August. FUBU says the clothing will include the latest innovative, breathable fabrications with both current and retro FUBU designs. Health workers can now save lives, and look good doing it!
“We are excited to be partnering with Green Town,” said FUBU founder Daymond John, who fans will also know was a star of Shark Tank. “This is an opportunity to create a fashion-forward performance scrub line. Green Town was able to produce a scrub line that has a fashion legacy and a very distinctive identity, that aims to meet the demand for stylish and functional medical garments. We are redefining industry standards and empowering healthcare professionals to express their individuality with confidence.”
FUBU is known for its strong licensing collaborations, and in fact, was nominated for Licensing Program of the Year in 2022. FUBU works with licensing agency The Brand Liaison, which helped secure the FUBU x Green Town deal.
FUBU, ( “For Us, By Us”) was founded by Daymond John, J. Alexander Martin, Keith Perrin, and Carlton Brown, and originated as a hat company based in Hollis, Queens, NY. In 1992, the founders, with the help of their neighbors, changed Daymond’s home into a factory for what they called “TEAM FUBU.”
FUBU became a fashion staple of North American fashion in the ’90s, and riding on the massive success of the ’90s and early ’20s, FUBU is currently enjoying a renewed enthusiasm for the brand due to the renaissance of nostalgic brands and strategic collaborations such as PUMA, Vogue, Forever21, Urban Outfitters and more. The brand has earned a staggering $6 billion in revenue since the company started production in Daymond John’s house in Queens.
The new FUBU Scrubs and Workwear collections will debut at the OFFPRICE show Aug. 6-8 and channels of distribution will include both brick and mortar stores, specialty stores and e-commerce and Amazon.
