Claussen Pickles has launched a licensing partnership with Baked by Melissa to create a pickle-flavored cupcake for National Pickle Month.
Founded in 2008, Baked by Melissa is an American bakery company and dessert brand that specializes in handcrafted mini-cupcakes and other bite-size treats.
Baked by Melissa currently has thirteen in-person retail shops that are located throughout the New York area and a dedicated online store that offers shipping to locations across the country.
The limited-edition Baked by Melissa x Claussen Pickle dessert features a pickle-infused vanilla mini cupcake base that is topped with pickle-flavored buttercream icing and garnished with red and white celebratory sprinkles.
“Anyone who’s seen @BakedByMelissa on TikTok knows I am a pickle lover, whether I’m making pickles at home or adding pickles to my favorite dishes, so it only made sense to bring the Claussen’s iconic flavor to Baked by Melissa cupcakes next, for an unexpected tangy treat,” said Baked by Melissa CEO, Melissa Ben-Ishay. “The addition of pickle gives the cupcake a zippy sweet-salty-sour kick, making it a truly unique ingredient for a bite-size cupcake.”
The limited-edition National Pickle Month cupcakes officially debuted on July 8, 2024 for consumers across the United States.
Available for purchase in packs of either six or twenty-five mini-cupcakes, the Baked by Melissa x Claussen Pickle products will be exclusively available while supplies last from Baked by Melissa retail locations and the official Baked by Melissa e-commerce website.
Prior to this dill-ightful dessert collaboration, Claussen Pickles entered the licensed beverage category with a pickle-flavored sparkling wine cocktail from Spritz Society that debuted last summer.
The Claussen Pickles x Spritz Society sparkling cocktail quickly sold out its limited-edition supply after the licensing collaboration became a viral hit on social media platforms.
“We’re excited to keep our pickle momentum going this summer with our first-ever dessert,” said Claussen Pickles brand manager, Caroline Sheehey. “Pickle is such a universal flavor, so we are constantly working to find new and unique ways to bring Claussen’s signature taste to many different beloved occasions. These cupcakes will be the perfect unexpected twist for pickle fanatics everywhere.”
Initially founded in 1870 by C. F. Claussen & Sons, Claussen Pickles is a refrigerated pickle brand that is known for its crunchy texture and high-quality flavors.
Claussen maintains its crunchy texture by keeping its pickled cucumbers uncooked throughout the manufacturing and production process.
The Claussen Pickles brand is currently owned by the international food corporation, Kraft-Heinz.
