King Features and Art of Play have revealed new details for their upcoming The Phantom video game alongside the launch of its pre-order campaign.
Based on King Features’ classic comic book series, the licensed video game will follow The Phantom character and his partner Diana Palmer in an original storyline that features comic-inspired graphics and arcade-style brawl game mechanics.
“The global appeal of The Phantom has endured across generations throughout the franchise’s history in the world of pop culture,” said King Features SVP, Carla Silva. “Partnering with Art of Play on this new video game gives fans yet another way to connect with the classic character in a modern way, and we are eager for fans to experience this thrilling gaming adventure.”
Art of Play has opted for a completely hand-drawn art style for the game that is created by the developer’s creative team as well as acclaimed Phantom comic artist, Anthony Spay.
In celebration of The Phantom’s upcoming release, Art of Play is launching a global campaign that offers special-edition pre-order incentives.
The pre-order incentives allow players to select between two different limited-edition packs titled the Digital Phan Pack and the Mega Phan Pack.
The Digital Phan Pack includes a digital copy of The Phantom game alongside exclusive digital rewards including an official art book, soundtrack and Sprite sheet poster.
