The innovative productivity app Forest has collaborated with SeekrTech’s TinyTAN to launch a new feature with licensed BTS characters.
The collaboration is an unusual licensing deal, bringing together Forest’s technology that helps users focus on their assigned projects, with the TinyTAN animated characters.
Forest has a consumer base of 40 million users worldwide and is currently available in 136 countries, using a simple idea to keep people focused until their assignment is complete. Essentially, whenever you want to stay focused, you plant a tree in the app. Your tree will grow as you focus on your work, but if you leave the app halfway through the assignment, the tree will die.
The app has an impact both digitally and in the real world. Through a partnership with Trees for the Future, Forest has helped plant over a million real-life trees.
Now, that process also includes a link to the TinyTAN, which are licensed animated characters based on the popular K-Pop band BTS. The brand was launched in 2019 by the entertainment platform, HYBE.
BTS, also known as the Bangtan Boys, is a South Korean boy band that debuted in 2013. The members Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook co-write and co-produce a large portion of the bands content. Since its launch, BTS has grown to be a global, award-winning, pop phenomenon, and one of the best selling musical groups of the past decade.
The addition of TinyTAN BTS characters adds a new, licensed entertainment component to the Forest app. While the player focuses on projects, they can watch their TinyTAN bloom with the birth flower of different BTS members.
The collaboration is also designed to help the environment, as each time a TinyTAN character tree is sold or when users spend virtual coins on planting real trees, the Forest team donates to Trees for the Future and creates planting orders.
The Forest app is available to purchase for $3.99 for Apple and Google Play.
