Epic Games’ and MGM have partnered to bring limited-edition Creed III content to the Fortnite online game platform.
MGM’s Creed film franchise follows the boxing career of the fictional character Adonis Creed. The upcoming Creed III film is the third installment in the franchise and marks Michael B. Jordan’s directorial debut.
“Creed has quickly established itself as one of the most inspirational stories for this generation of moviegoers and has really become a central part of pop culture,” said MGM’s Robert Marick. “Being able to bring Adonis to one of the biggest games in the world—Fortnite—as Creed III arrives in theaters, offered us an opportunity to collaborate on something that is sure to be a landmark event.”
Fortnite is an online game platform that features multiple gameplay modes including Battle Royale and Zero Build. Fortnite is available on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, Android, PC, and cloud-based game streaming services.
The licensing collaboration will include a new outfit, in-game accessories, and a tournament for Fortnite inspired by the upcoming film Creed III.
Beginning today, a Solo Zero Build tournament called the Creed Cup is available on the Fortnite platform. Participating players will have a chance to unlock a limited-edition Adonis Creed Outfit and Heavy Bag Back Bling ahead of its release on the Fortnite Item Shop. Fortnite players can also complete five new Quests to unlock the Creed’s Gloves Spray in-game reward.
The Adonis Creed Outfit will be available on the Item Shop on March 2. The Creed-inspired outfit comes in two styles called the Main Event style and the Bionic style. With the Bionic option, players can make their in-game avatars arms glow either blue or orange during combat.
In addition, the Fortnite Item Shop will offer a Knockout Pick Pickaxe and a Target Training Emote during the promotional event.
The Creed III feature film will debut in theaters and IMAX on March 3, 2023.
