Tickets are now on sale for the inaugural edition of the Australian Children’s Content Summit trade show.
The three-day trade event will bring together both local and international delegates from the children’s and family entertainment industry for networking, business negotiations, and more.
“The Australian Children’s Content Summit is set to become a global highlight, gathering the brightest minds and creative talents from the children’s screen industry in Australia and worldwide,” said SLR Productions CEO, Suzanne Ryan. “Against the stunning backdrop of the Coffs Coast, this event will ignite inspiring discussions, forge valuable relationships, and drive business opportunities for the children’s entertainment sector. With a strong commitment to collaboration, this inaugural Children’s Summit invites delegates to engage in fruitful partnerships and drive the creation of exciting and new content.”
Industry representatives from Australia will include Libbie Doherty from ABC’s children’s content division, ABC, Grainne Brunsdon from Screen Australia, Kyas Hepworth from Screen NSW, Jenny Buckland and Bernadette O’Mahony from the ACTF, and more.
“A summit bringing everyone together to talk about Australian children’s screen content is timely,” said Buckland. “We are all at a crossroads with so many challenges and opportunities, and so much to think about in terms of changing audience habits and different ways of working. Taking the time to reflect and connect with each other is a great idea and the Australian Children’s Television Foundation is proud to support the Australian Children’s Content Summit.”
Hosted by the Australian TV star Mike Goldman, the Summit will include activities such as speaker panels, breakout sessions, roundtables, business discussions and social engagements.
“As a champion of children’s content, the Australian Children’s Content Summit is an excellent and exciting opportunity for industry to come together in a space designed specifically around the work we do and to be able to speak to our creative visions,” said Doherty. “The emphasis on authenticity and keeping the audience in mind is the ideal scenario in attending the Australian Children’s Content Summit.”
International delegates attending the Australian Children’s Content Summit include Sarah Muller from BBC Children, Carla de Jong from Sinking Ship Entertainment, Joe D’Ambrosia from Sony Pictures Television, Marie McCann from CBC, and many more.
“Screen NSW is pleased to support the inaugural Australian Children’s Content Summit,” said Hepworth. “Increasing the development of local children’s content is a key area of focus for Screen NSW, and I encourage all practioners to join us, have their say, and help shape future content.”
The Australian Children’s Content Summit will take place at the Pacific Bay Resort located at Coffs Harbour in New South Wales from August 29 to August 31, 2023.
Early bird registration for the full event program is priced at $650, one-day event passes can be purchased for $390, and three-day student tickets are available for $455. All tickets include access to lunches, refreshments, evening functions, and more.
