The popular Italian children’s book series Dynowish, by Paola Miriam Visconti, will be produced as a new animated TV show.
The series is being produced as a partnership with UAE-based producer and distributor TwelveP Animation, along with Emmy award-winning content creator Josh Selig.
The upcoming animated series, targeting kids aged 8–12, will be unveiled at the MIP Jr. and MIPCOM markets.
Visconti’s Dynowish series, published by Giunti Editore in both English and Italian, has captivated young readers in Italy and the Middle East.
The saga includes Dynowish and the True Story of the Abandoned Dreams and Dynowish: The Protector of Dreams, with the first volume titled Tears of the Moon. An additional title, The Moon Flower, is in the works, contributing to a total of nine books planned for the series.
The spin-off Dynowish: Mission Clean Planet emphasizes environmental awareness and the importance of uplifting dreams.
Alongside her writing, Visconti co-founded the Dynowish Foundation, which supports underprivileged children in achieving their dreams.
TwelveP Animation, based in Abu Dhabi, was the first to invest in the Dynowish series’ adaptation into animation, leveraging its international distribution network across 80 countries.

“Supported by a solid creative foundation and a proven monetization strategy, Dynowish features universal themes that easily resonate across all cultures,” said Katerina Pshenitsyna, Managing Partner at TwelveP.
The creative team includes Josh Selig, known for his work on The Wonder Pets! and Small Potatoes, who is drafting the series bible and overseeing creative direction.
The pilot will be scripted by Francesco Artibani, a veteran in children’s animation with experience at Disney and other renowned projects. The design will be led by Luigi Aimè, whose portfolio includes work with Disney and Pixar.
The narrative centers around siblings Ginny and Leo as they battle Azimur, an evil wizard intent on turning dreams into nightmares. With the help of Dynowish, the legendary protector of dreams, they must restore hope to the dream world.
Visconti shared her vision for the series, saying, “Dynowish is the story of dreams lost, abandoned, and found again. It has always been my wish to inspire children to hold onto their dreams and keep their faith.”
In addition to the animated series, TwelveP plans a broader Dynowish franchise that will include toys, consumer products, theatrical content, and interactive educational gaming experiences.
“Dynowish is an ambitious project that blends literature, art, and entertainment to inspire children all over the world,” said Selig. “It is an honor to work with Paola and the entire team to bring this wonderful adventure to life.”
