The new Netflix series Brown and Friends from the digital entertainment company IPX is launching its first season in celebration of the IPs’ 10th anniversary.
The Brown and Friends animated Netflix series is based on the IPX original character IP Line Friends. The Line Friends brand was originally created in 2011 as stickers on the mobile messenger app, LINE.
The 3D animated Brown and Friends series was produced in partnership with Netflix as a way to expand upon the stories of eleven original characters from the Line Friends brand. Brown and Friends follows licensed characters including Brown, Cony, Sally, Choco, and more as they get into adventures at a neighborhood coffee shop.
“To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Line Friends character IPs, IPX is truly excited to release Brown and Friends, a Netflix animated series that can be enjoyed by everyone regardless of age, gender, or race,” said an IPX official.
“With this partnership, IPX will continue to expand the influence of our original character and minini IP business beyond Asia and across US, Europe and all other global markets.”
IPX is the new corporate name of Line Friends. IPX is a digital IP platform company that plans to expand further into the metaverse and NFT business in coming years. The company recently launched a new IP generator platform called FRENZ which allows users to create personal character IPs for use in the metaverse and NFT platforms.
Through strategic partnerships with companies such as the blockchain and NFT company CripCo, IPX is expanding its metaverse presence through IP based experiences and licensed digital content.
In addition, IPX has created digital IPs and media content through global partnerships with artists and brands such as the South Korean boy band BTS, the Chinese singer-songwriter and TV personality Roy Wang, the South Korean girl group Itzy, and more.
The new Brown and Friends animated series will premiere on Dec. 29 exclusively on the Netflix streaming platform.
