The licensed Warner Bros. Discovery Bugs Bunny at the Symphony musical production is returning to Mexico with a four-city tour this fall.
The licensed concert is scheduled to play in Puebla on Oct. 22, in Mexico City on Nov. 5, in Monterrey on Nov. 12, and in Guadalajara on Nov. 25.
Created by George Daugherty and David Ka Lik Wong, Bugs Bunny at the Symphony has been touring the world with major symphony orchestras since its initial performance in 1990.
The concert first played in Mexico in 1998 at the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City. This was followed by two open-air performances in 2011 at the Palacio de Bellas Artes.
“When we were all growing up and watching Looney Tunes on Saturday morning, we didn’t realize we were also getting a massive lesson in classical music,” said Daugherty. “Bugs Bunny at the Symphony is the perfect opportunity to bring today’s kids to the symphony orchestra and appreciate the beauty of classical music while getting a hilarious twist from Bugs Bunny and his cohorts. More importantly, it’s a chance for adults of all ages to rekindle their affection for these brilliant animated shorts, and relive a truly nostalgic and magical part of their childhoods.”
Conducted by Daugherty, the latest version of Bugs Bunny at the Symphony features 16 established Looney Tunes shorts and five brand-new animated shorts, alongside live renditions of Carl Stalling’s musical scores.
Warner Bros. Discovery’s Bugs Bunny at the Symphony concert is presented by FR Producciones, Conjunto Santander de Artes Escénica, and Representaciones Árinder, in conjunction with Industrial FX Productions.
The new four-city Mexico tour is part of the year-long celebration for Warner Bros. 100th Anniversary.
