Crayola has partnered with the augmented-reality company, Cupixel, to create licensed AR art supply kits.
Cupixel is an AR company that merges technology with traditional art forms to make artistic expression and education more accessible for all demographics.
The licensing collaboration intends to help creators of all ages and ability levels to learn new skills, find inspiration and build confidence in their artistic abilities.
“Technology can be a great addition to an artist’s toolkit, and we’re thrilled to have a partner that truly aligns with Crayola’s mission to help parents raise creatively alive kids,” said Crayola SVP, Warren Schorr. “This authentic combination of tech, community, and artist-led experiences opens up a world of possibilities for creators of every stripe.”
The licensing collaboration between the two companies will kick off with the release of co-branded artistic starter kits for children and families.
The starter kits include a variety of Crayola branded art supplies, a device stand, access to Cupixel’s companion app, and other artistic tools.
The Cupixel app offers a variety of features such as access to art tutors, instructional videos and the company’s Smart Trace technology that allows users to virtually project step-by-step guides onto various real-world surfaces.
As part of the Crayola partnership, the Cupixel app will also include a dedicated Crayola family section that offers specially designed Crayola content and instructional videos for creators of all ages.
“We are very excited to announce the partnership with Crayola that will allow millions around the world to enjoy Crayola’s unique content while using our Smart Trace technology to jumpstart their creativity,” said Cupixel CEO, Elad Katav.
The Cupixel app is currently available for download for mobile devices through both the App Store and Google Play.
Crayola x Cupixel starter art kits can be purchased from Cupixel’s official website, Michaels online, and JOANN store locations.
A subsidiary of Hallmark Cards, Crayola is an international art supply brand that offers a wide range of creative expression products and activities for children and families.
