SavySoda has partnered with Explosm to bring the Cyanide and Happiness webcomic to its online Pixel Starships video game.
Available for a limited time, the collaborative partnership offers Pixel Starships players access to licensed content inspired by the dark absurdist comedy found in Cyanide and Happiness.
The exclusive in-game content include eight characters from the Explosm webcomic, a themed Battle Pass, a Harry the Butcher Store gameplay mod, collectible items and new story missions.
“Suit up, recruit your twisted crew, and blast off into the most ridiculous adventure the galaxy has ever seen,” said SavySoda CEO, Xin Zhao.
The recruitable Cyanide and Happiness characters featured in the game include Shark Rad, Lunk, Ted Bear, the Captain and more.
Released in 2016 by SavySoda, Pixel Starships is a massively-multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that combines intergalactic adventures with pixel-art graphics.
Within the game, players can join a faction and take on the role of a starship captain, command a ship and recruit a diverse crew of characters that offer different skills and personalities.
The Cyanide & Happiness Goes to Space! crossover event officially kicked off on April 24 and will run until June 13.
The Reemsborko agency negotiated this deal on behalf of Explosm as the global licensing representative for the Cyanide and Happiness brand.
Reemsborko worked alongside Layer Licensing, who introduced and negotiated the deal on behalf of SavySoda.
