Crunchyroll has partnered with Epic Games to bring licensed content and characters from My Hero Academia to Fortnite.
My Hero Academia is an anime series that follows the story of Izuku Midoriya on his quest to become a hero despite his lack of superpowers. The fantasy series is currently available on the anime platform Crunchyroll.
The licensed in-game content includes My Hero Academia themed gameplay, emotes, outfits, weapons, and abilities in Fortnite’s Battle Royale and Zero Build modes.
The licensing partnership also includes a new themed game mode built by Zen Creative Studios called Hero Training Gym island. This mode allows players to choose from three separate classes and participate in team-based combat in two different arena settings.
Fortnite players can also earn in-game rewards by completing limited-time My Hero Academia Quests in Fortnite Battle Royale, Zero Build, and the Hero Training Gym island. The rewards include items and abilities such as the Deku Spray, PLUS ULTRA Spray, Deku’s Glove Emoticon, U.A. Cape Back Bling, and more.
Fortnite is an online video game developed by the US-based company Epic Games. Since its initial release in 2017, Fortnite has grown to include more than 400 million registered accounts worldwide. Fortnite is available on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, Android, PC, and cloud-based game streaming services.
The Crunchyroll anime and manga platform offers both free ad-supported content and subscription premium content in over two hundred regions.
Crunchyroll also serves the anime community across events, theater, games, consumer products, collectibles and publishing. Crunchyroll, LLC is an independently-operated joint venture between Sony Pictures Entertainment and Aniplex.
