Two top British brands have renewed their successful relationship, as Henley Royal Regatta added three years to a licensing deal with Crew Clothing.
To celebrate the ongoing partnership, Crew Clothing will return with its best-selling capsule collection, comprised of occasion-wear and elevated wardrobe classics. The latest offering from Crew launched this week, ahead of the 2024 Regatta season.
The Regatta is a big deal in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1839, the Henley Royal Regatta is the best known event of its kind in the world, known for its match racing. It’s one of the highlights of the summer sporting and social calendar in the UK, as well as the rowing calendar internationally. Nearly 400 races are staged at the Regatta, featuring Olympians and emerging stars from around the world.
“Henley Royal Regatta is amongst the most stylish events in the summer sporting and social calendar in the UK,” said Crew Clothing’s Head of Marketing, Naomi Parry. “Our combined values and heritage make this a natural collaboration, and we’re delighted to be continuing our partnership and launching a fourth instalment of this much-loved capsule collection.”
Offering a versatile blend of both occasion and casual styles, Crew’s new capsule is designed with timeless British style in mind, “perfect for elevating leisurely days spent riverside,” the company says. Drawing inspiration from the heritage of both Henley Royal Regatta and Crew Clothing, the designs feature a captivating nautical colour palette. For women, stand-out features include delicate lace and contemporary florals as well as playful polka dots and Crew’s signature application of stripes.
The new collections’ menswear offering will include a range of popular sweatshirts such as the Bowside style, varsity-inspired rowing blazers and polos alongside the brand’s signature rugby shirts. The collections’ refined tailoring and luxurious silhouettes perfectly capture the essence of riverside sophistication, accentuated by Crew’s iconic crossed oars, a symbol of quality craftsmanship and heritage design.
“We are thrilled to be working with Crew Clothing for a further three years, a brand whose values are synonymous with the Regatta,” said Henley Royal Regatta Chairman Sir Steve Redgrave. “We share so much in our heritage and tradition and the latest collection truly captures the spirit of the Regatta.”
Crew Clothing Company is another well known, premium British brand with a nautical flair that suits the Regatta. The company was founded in the back of a Salcombe windsurfing shop in 1993, and its designs of apparel, footwear and accessories, influenced by watersports and days at the beach, has grown rapidly. Today the retailer operates 100 stores around the country, as well as online at crewclothing.com.
