Samsung has teamed up with The Tetris Company to launch limited-edition food storage containers in the iconic Tetris shapes to help reduce food waste.
These new products are called Samsung Stackers and are inspired by the world-famous puzzle game Tetris, which has remained popular since its creation in 1984. The first-of-its-kind storage solution set will include all seven original Tetris shapes and colours.
The goal is to make it easier to store food efficiently and safely in your fridge or freezer in a way that appeals to both retro gamers and food lovers. This food storage set is designed for optimizing the space required for food leftovers through connecting and stacking leftover containers.
“We’re delighted to partner with Samsung to create Samsung Stackers and offer fun-filled solutions to fridge organization with a dose of Tetris nostalgia,” Maya Rogers, President and CEO, at Tetris says. “It’s great to see the Samsung Stackers bring our beloved puzzle game to life and we can’t wait to see how customers turn their ordinary fridge and freezer spaces into a real-life Tetris game.”
In addition to this, all profits from the Samsung Stackers will go to the European Food Banks Federation. This non-profit organization brings together a network of over 300 Food Banks which are committed to reducing food insecurity through redistributing food to charities that help low income families.
“At Samsung it is our mission to develop lifestyle products and solutions that help consumers manage and run their lives better, including reducing their food waste,” Tim Beere, Senior Category Lead Cooling at Samsung said. “That’s why we’ve teamed up with The Tetris Company to launch Samsung Stackers, a totally unique storage solution that provides an entertaining way to store food.”
“Not only do the Samsung Stackers look great and fit perfectly in our fridges, but they also provide our customers an even more efficient way of optimising the storage space available, all while supporting the European Food Banks Federation’s fight against food waste.”
