Streetwear company DREAM Clothing is releasing limited-edition, pride-focused Care Bears apparel drops for the brand’s 40th anniversary.
“Care Bears fans have been celebrating sharing, caring, kindness, and inclusivity for over 40 years now,” said Cloudco Entertainment’s Head of Global Licensing, Robert Prinzo. “We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with the DREAM team and amplify these values through beautifully designed, limited-edition collections.”
The Care Bears brand is owned by Cloudco Entertainment and is one of the most popular children’s properties in the world. The brand was originally introduced in 1982 through consumer products, greeting cards, and later a series of animated television shows and feature films.
In 2019, a new look and mission for the Care Bears was introduced in Care Bears: Unlock the Magic, a 2D animated series currently airing in the US on Cartoon Network, Boomerang, and HBO Max via its Cartoonito preschool block.
In 2022, the Care Bears are celebrating 40 years through the launch of new consumer products with key retail partners and a range of new toys with Basic Fun.
The first planned DREAM x Care Bears clothing release was exclusively made for Pride Month and launched on June 1. Subsequent limited-edition releases were dropped during the month of June and are continuing through July.
The collections are made to provide fans of Care Bears and DREAM Clothing with statement pieces to raise awareness and provide paid access to therapy for the LGBTQIA+ community.
DREAM Clothing is a unisex fashion company that donates a portion of its net sales to raise funding for Mental Health Initiatives and paid therapy for low-income families.
The company has raised over $400,000 for its mental health non-profit charity partners since launching in 2018. DREAM has also helped pay for more than 2600 hours of therapy and has directly connected supporters of the brand with licensed therapists.
“For all we do and what we stand for as a brand, we are honored to work with the Care Bears for these limited-edition collections,” said DREAM Clothing founder Sammy Sucu. “The Care Bears are representative of DREAM as a brand through and through.”
In tandem with Cloudco Entertainment, DREAM Clothing is hoping to raise over $100,000 for the DREAM Pride Fund established for the new Care Bears apparel collections.
