Interparfums SA has signed a fifteen-year global licensing agreement with Lacoste to be the sports brands’ exclusive cosmetics developer.
Interparfums SA is a majority-owned subsidiary of the international cosmetics and fragrance company, Inter Parfums, Inc.
The company develops, manufactures and distributes products as the exclusive licensee for global brands such as Abercrombie & Fitch, DKNY, Hollister, Jimmy Choo, and more.
Under the terms of the agreement, Interparfums will be responsible for the creation, development, production and marketing of all perfume and cosmetics lines under the Lacoste brand.
“Interparfums’ proven know-how and creativity will be key assets to continue the development of our fragrance category, which plays a significant role in Lacoste’s reputation,” said Thierry Guibert, Lacoste President. “Our common vision will enable us to take an approach that is increasingly in line with the brand’s strong identity codes, whose fragrances still have great potential.”
Initially founded in 1933, Lacoste is a France-based sports brand that specializes in clothing, footwear, sports equipment, accessories, cosmetics, and more. The Lacoste brand was acquired by the Swiss holding company Maus Frères in 2012.
Lacoste products can be recognised by the brand’s green crocodile logo. The brand is currently established in ninety-eight countries worldwide.
“Lacoste is an emblematic brand in the world of fashion and sport with a very high level of awareness and desirability throughout the world,” said Jean Madar, CEO of Inter Parfums, Inc. “The management team has a clear and precise vision of the brand’s great development potential, which will also allow us to take the perfumes higher and further. This is an important new strategic step in the life of Interparfums. We are delighted and thrilled about this exciting partnership.”
The launch of the first Lacoste x Interparfums fragrance line is scheduled for release in 2024. The products will be available through the Lacoste boutique network and through selective distribution lines.
