The start-up company, LightningWorks, is launching an interactive comic book and video game hybrid project called Siege Worlds on the Ethereum blockchain.
“This interactive comic and 3D game uses blockchain technology in a unique way,” said LightningWorks founder, Geoff McCabe. “It’s a first-person-shooter, play-and-earn game that rewards interaction and cooperation with other players. Using NFT tech, players can find Easter eggs—hidden clues and secrets inside the comic book—to use within the game,” added McCabe.
“These are NFT weapons including a rifle, pistol, and a crossbow that are related specifically to the characters in the story, and will only be available once, by minting this particular comic, or buying from other players on an open market like OpenSea.”
LightningWorks is a digital media company that focuses on creating interactive comics, NFTs, and Web3 gaming.
The company’s Siege Worlds Zero comic series and Siege Worlds video game tell a story about a mysterious island in which heroes are continuously reborn to fight against monsters emerging from the sea. The heroes are loosely based on historical figures such as Miyamoto Musashi, Flamma, Joan of Arc, and more.
The comics utilize a new proprietary technology that the company calls Forging. Through this forging technology, owners of three of the NFT comics can digitally combine them to mint a new rarer comic.
“We are really excited because this is an industry first with a top-notch team behind it,” said LightningWorks’ CEO, Jordan Fiksenbaum.
“DC Alfonso, who co-created Avengers Unlimited, has worked on the comics designs, and the music department of Lightningworks is advised by Bassy Bob, a winner of multiple Grammy Awards.”
The Siege Worlds NFT Collectibles will initially be available through the LightningWorks.io website. Following the initial release, the collectibles will be available on other NFT exchange platforms such as OpenSea.
