Madame Tussauds New York and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment are opening a horror-themed exhibit called Warner Bros. Icons of Horror.
Madame Tussauds New York is an interactive wax museum that specializes in creating realistic figures based on celebrities, fictional characters, world leaders and more. The museum features more than 85,000 square feet of interactive entertainment.
The Warner Bros. Icons of Horror exhibit will feature wax figures of licensed characters from some of Warner Bros. most well-known horror franchises. The characters featured include Annabelle and the Nun from the Conjuring film franchise, Pennywise from the IT franchise, and Regan from The Exorcist movie.
The licensed wax figures are set up in four different scenes based on the setting and themes of the horror franchises from Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema.
“The horror genre has one of the most dedicated fan followings and we can’t wait to send a chill down visitors’ spines when they immerse themselves into these iconic scenes featuring terrifying wax figures,” said Tiago Mogadouro, Head of Marketing at Madame Tussauds New York.
“We know Warner Bros. Icons of Horror will be a favorite at Madame Tussauds New York, especially during this spooky time of the year!”
The Annabelle scene features a tea party in a creepy children’s bedroom. Objects are set up to move around the room to imitate a haunting and the scene will shake to scare visitors.
The Exorcist scene includes moving wind lights and sudden loud noises to scare visitors as they walk through a recreation of the MacNeil household. The demonic Regan figure is positioned to appear as if it is levitating above the bed.
The Nun-inspired scene uses dim lighting, shadows and ominous organ music to set the mood for the wax figure of the demonic Nun, Valak.
The IT scene features the monstrous clown Pennywise in a dark and artistically run-down recreation of the Neibolt house.
Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment is responsible for the creation, development, and licensing of location-based entertainment for the portfolio of brands represented by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Brands and Experiences.
