House of Blueberry and WildBrain are releasing an exclusive virtual Teletubbies clothing collection for the Second Life metaverse platform.
Second Life is an online multimedia metaverse platform that was developed and launched by Linden Labs in 2003.
The virtual Teletubbies clothing collection includes more than a 130 items that can be purchased and worn by Second Life digital avatars.
All of the items in the collection are inspired by characters, themes, and iconography from the Teletubbies entertainment franchise and lifestyle brand. The Teletubbies brand is currently owned by the global kids’ entertainment company, Wildbrain.
“We’re so excited to be partnering with House of Blueberry to bring the Teletubbies further into the metaverse,” said Wildbrain director, Melissa Goodrich. “The playfulness of the franchise and its appeal to both kids and kids-at-heart has lent itself to giving our partners license to play in the fashion space. House of Blueberry is the largest digital fashion house empowering users through self-expression; our colorful quartet is excited to join them and add some more Tubby-wonder to the Metaverse.”
Initially founded in 2012, House of Blueberry is a metaverse fashion brand that has developed over twenty million digital assets for online platforms such as Roblox, The Sims, and Second Life.
“I loved having the opportunity to work on this collection because it’s fun, colorful, and brings multiple generations together,” said House of Blueberry CCO, Ashley Hopkins. “Both House of Blueberry and Teletubbies have a strong sense of community and advocate for self expression, so it was a natural partnership.”
The official launch of the Teletubbies metaverse collection will coincide with a virtual Teletubbies-themed festival on the Second Life platform.
The Teletubbies x House of Blueberry virtual collection will be available for purchase in House of Blueberry’s digital store on Second Life beginning June 23, 2023.
