The videogaming juggernaut Minecraft has announced it will continue and expand its ongoing relationship with Ukonic a licensed product specialist.
Ukonic is an industry leader in licensed home and wellness products and works with many of the largest entertainment brands in the world. Ukonic’s expertise is to translate the brand story into product that is as unique as the brand itself.
On Halloween day, Ukonic announced their contract with Minecraft and its parent company Microsoft has been extended, and that the product range will be expanded.
“Minecraft represents an enormous opportunity for us to reach gamers of every age, and provide opportunities for more storytelling in the Minecraft Universe,” said Ukonic CEO Martin Butler. “Microsoft’s continued faith in our ability to represent the Minecraft brand is a great honor.”
Ukonic is now expanding its home furnishings range to not only include lighting and storage, but fridges, small appliances, and housewares items.
While Ukonic works with a lot of major brands, the Minecraft deal is certainly among the largest. Developed by Mojang Studios, Minecraft is the best selling video game of all time, and also has become one of the leading platforms for the rapidly developing metaverse.
It’s parent company Microsoft, which acquired Mojang Studios, is ranked as the 21st largest corporation in the United States by total revenue.
Ukonic has been creating inventive pop-culture merchandise since 2003, with licenses for Star Wars, Marvel, Disney, XBox, Harry Potter, DC, Star Trek, Jurassic World, and many others. Ukonic was also the winner of the prestigious Licensing International Excellence Award in Appliances, Housewares and Electronics for a Corporate Brand with their XBox Mini-Fridge Thermoelectric Cooler, which was also produced for Microsoft.
