IMG has secured a licensing partnership between the Van Gogh Museum and Buttercloth for a limited-edition Van Gogh apparel collection.
IMG is the licensing agent for the Van Gogh Museum.
“Inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s appreciation for nature and color, I try to capture the spirit of van Gogh’s point of view throughout these Buttercloth exclusive garments, with beautiful patterns incorporating Vincent’s rich, colorful paintings,” said Buttercloth founder, Danh Tran.
Buttercloth is an apparel manufacturing company that specializes in creating comfortable and stylish clothing using its patented cotton fabrics. Developed by Danh Tran, the company’s patented fabrics include sustainably-sourced long-fiber cotton and an Icy Cotton fabric infused with mint fibers.
“Much like Vincent van Gogh, a revolutionary artist known for his unique use of different textures, Buttercloth is a pioneering force in the clothing industry owing to its patented new fabrics,” said IMG director, Marianna Fundator. “Hence, we believe this collaboration is a truly fitting celebration of the Van Gogh Museum’s 50th anniversary.”
The limited-edition anniversary collection includes t-shirts, polo shirts, short sleeve button-ups and long sleeve button-ups. The co-branded apparel features prints and details inspired by the Van Gogh Museum’s extensive collection of artworks.
“Buttercloth has beautifully captured the spirit of van Gogh’s paintings throughout this collection with eye for detail and inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s love for nature, Buttercloth designed a beautiful limited-edition we are all very proud of,” said Van Gogh Museum head, Marijn Veraart.
Located in Amsterdam, the Van Gogh Museum features the largest collection of works by Vincent van Gogh in the world. The museum’s permanent collection includes more than 200 paintings, over seven hundred letters, and close to 500 drawings from the acclaimed artist.
