Outright Games has entered a long-term partnership with UNICEF to support the charity through the sale of licensed video game bundles.
“We couldn’t be prouder to come onboard as UNICEF UK’s first ever official partner within the video game industry,” said Outright Games CEO, Beth Goss. “Our aim is to take our best-in-class stable of licensed IPs and the passion of our global team, to raise as much money as we can to help improve the lives of all children across the world. We’re incredibly excited to bring our community together so we can make a real difference to those children who need help the most.”
Under the terms of the agreement, Outright Games will leverage their access to children’s entertainment brands to raise a minimum of £200,000 ($250,000 USD) per year for UNICEF’s Resources for Results Fund.
This will be achieved through the sale of digital video game bundles created in collaboration with Outright Games’ licensing partners. All profits from the sales of the bundles will go directly to UNICEF.
UNICEF’s Resources for Results Fund aids vulnerable children worldwide through a broad range of charitable initiatives. This includes securing staff across all UNICEF programs, researching new methods to address challenges, providing funding to proven support methods, and increasing UNICEF’s emergency response capabilities.
“Children around the world face vast challenges – from conflict to climate shocks, as well as missing out on their right to quality education,” said UNICEF UK’s Mohini Raichura-Brown. “I am proud of this partnership with Outright Games that brings their employees and dedicated customer base together to help UNICEF continue to make a difference to the lives of the most vulnerable children.”
The first limited-edition video game charity bundle will be available for purchase from April 28 to May 12, 2023. The bundle will include licensed characters from Hasbro such as Peppa Pig, PJ MASKS, and the TRANSFORMERS.
Outright Games plans to release three additional video game bundles throughout 2023.
Other major activities for the partnership are expected to take place throughout the year. This will be supplemented by fundraising efforts from Outright Games employees and charitable ambassadors.
