The New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) has partnered with Reiss for a collaborative fashion collection inspired by the NYBG’s botanical art archive.
Officially launched on April 9, 2025, the licensed Reiss x New York Botanical Garden collection offers an assortment of clothing and leisure accessories for the summer season.
The licensed apparel line with Reiss marks the New York Botanical Garden’s first ever collaboration with a European brand.
“We were inspired by Reiss’s creative vision and are thrilled to see how beautifully our historic illustrations have been reimagined,” said NYBG VP, Christa Boeke. “It’s a wonderful way to share our conservation story and connect with audiences in Europe and beyond.”
The Reiss brand’s product design team visited the NYBG to explore its extensive archive of botanical illustrations to inspire the collection’s aesthetic and motifs.
“We are thrilled to partner with the New York Botanical Garden, bringing their rich botanical heritage to our contemporary designs,” said Reiss chief creative officer, Una Joyce. “This collaboration combines our modern Reiss design aesthetic with bold, colourful blooms, harmoniously blending style and nature into luxurious summer wardrobe staples, and offering our customers unique pieces that celebrate both fashion and flora.”
With sizes designed for women and children, the collection jncludes a variety of dresses, denim, t-shirts, vests, trousers, shorts, swimwear and clothing sets that feature vibrant colors and floral prints.
The collaboration was brokered by NYBG’s European licensing sub-agent, Metrostar, in partnership with its master licensing agency, Jewel Branding & Licensing.
“We all watched in wonder as the collection came together,” said Metrostar managing director, Claire Potter. “It really is the most amazing showcase for NYBG’s stunning archive and the perfect way to launch the New York Botanical Garden partnership programme in Europe.”
Specializing in plant research and conservation, the NYBG seeks to connect people to the natural world and promotes science-based solutions to environmental challenges.
The proceeds from this collaboration will be used to directly supports the Garden’s global initiatives in areas such as plant research, conservation, horticulture and education.
The collection features over 50 pieces and is available to consumers across Europe through through Reiss’s website, store locations and select department store retailers around the world.
