Rock The Bells has partnered with the Estate of Ol’ Dirty Bastard for a limited-edition, co-branded apparel collection.
The collaboration was negotiated by ODB’s licensing agent, FanGirl Consulting & Brand Management.
“I am so excited to start 2023 with a special partnership with Rock the Bells and ODB,” said Estate of ODB administrator, Icelene Jones.
“I know that this collaboration will truly shine a light on my talented and unique husband Ol’ Dirty Bastard.”
The limited-edition Ol’ Dirty Bastard (ODB) collection features unisex and women’s hoodies with the artwork for ODB’s first album Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version.
The Estate of Ol’ Dirty Bastard and Rock The Bells are partnering with several retail licensees to bring the new designs to market.
“ODB was known for being an original, and for being a genuine and entertaining, verbose artist,” said Rock The Bells VP, Rich Morris.
“He contributed to changing rap indefinitely—from the music to the business. As Rock The Bells continues to champion the culture forward offering fans the best in content, experiences and commerce, we’re honored to be partnering with his Estate on this collection and look forward to our continued collaboration.”
The collection is scheduled as one of Rock The Bell’s initiatives to commemorate the 50th anniversary of hip hop. Rock The Bells’ 50th anniversary apparel collection is intended to celebrate notable icons, cultural contributors and landmarks from hip hop history.
Ol’ Dirty Bastard aka Russell Tyrone Jones was a founder of the American rap group the Wu-Tang Clan, which rose to prominence in the early 1990s. After establishing the Wu-Tang Clan, Ol’ Dirty Bastard went on to pursue a successful solo career until his unexpected passing in 2004.
The Estate of Ol’ Dirty Bastard is dedicated to preserving the legacy of the late rap and hip hop artist. As a brand, the Estate is focused on bringing ODB merchandise and multi-platform experiences to Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s global fanbase. ODB’s Estate is organized by the management, development, and production company Four Screens on behalf of Icelene Jones.
