The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) and Riley Blake Designs have announced an upcoming co-branded fabric collection called Floral Gardens.
Riley Blake Designs is a US-based quilting and sewing manufacturer that produces more than 80 fabric collections per year. The company currently holds licenses for a wide range of lifestyle, entertainment and historical brands such as Barbie, Thomas the Tank Engine, the Jane Austen House Museum, Liberty of London, the RHS, and more.
“Quilting and sewing enthusiasts across the globe will be both amazed and delighted at the way Riley Blake Designs has adapted some of the world’s finest botanical art to the colourful, fresh and beautiful fabrics it produces,” said RHS licensing manager, Cathy Snow. “This is a very beautiful and special collection.”
Founded in 1804, the RHS is a UK-based gardening and horticulture focused charitable organization. The licensing programme for the Royal Horticultural Society offers more than 25,000 images of botanical and horticultural art to select licensing partners through its RHS Lindley Collections.
The products in the Floral Gardens fabric collection will include high-quality quilting cottons, natural linen, home décor tea towel panels and DIY quilt kits.
All of the products in the collection will feature licensed designs by horticultural and botanical artists from the RHS Lindley Collections.
“It wasn’t easy choosing appropriate illustrations from the vast riches of the RHS Lindley Collections, but the result has been some extraordinary and memorable artwork that, combined with our own skill in fabric manufacture, has resulted in a unique and irresistible collection,” said Riley Blake Designs director, Cindy Cloward.
The artists featured in the Floral Gardens collection include Pierre Francois Ledoulx, Lydia Penrose, Caroline Marie Applebee, Graham Stuart Thomas and Lillian Snelling.
The collection will be distributed through an extensive network of independent fabric stores and e-commerce websites in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the EU, Japan, South Korea and the UK.
The licensed Floral Gardens collection will be showcased on Riley Blake Designs’ official social media accounts prior to its launch in December 2023.
