The top shaving brand Schick is launching a new line of men’s grooming accessories through a licensing deal with Capture Accessories.
The deal was brokered by Brandgenuity between Schick’s parent company, Edgewell Personal Care, and the up and coming Capture Accessories brand, which has grown rapidly since its founding in 2017. Brandgenuity is the exclusive agency for Schick.
“We are thrilled to welcome Capture Accessories to the Schick family at such an important inflection point in the category,” said Amanda Alvarez, Senior Brand Manager at Schick.
She noted men’s shaving behaviors have changed dramatically in the last few years and Schick continues to evolve its portfolio to ensure it meets a wide range of unique grooming needs.
“This licensing partnership will help us celebrate our consumers diverse needs and give them the all the tools they need whether they choose to be clean shaven, wear a mustache, sport a beard, or anything in-between,” Alvarez added.
The deal will see Capture developing a line men’s grooming products under the Schick brand. Capture has made its name by producing and marketing hairbrushes, mirrors, toiletry cases, and other grooming products destined for mass market, drugstore, specialty beauty retailers, and online distribution. Capture holds a number of successful licenses, including with the sportswear brand FILA.
The deal with Schick, however, is a major step for Capture, as the two companies work in the same sector, and Schick has long been among the leading brands in the world.
Schick has been a major player in men’s shave for over one hundred years. The company is a major innovator in the space, and manufactures and markets a wide range of shave systems, disposable razors, and trimmers. Schick products are sold at mass, drug, grocery, and e-commerce channels.
“The current shopping experience in these categories is ripe for innovation, and Schick is the perfect brand to tell a more compelling story at shelf,” said David Gindi, Senior Vice President of Capture Accessories. “Our R&D team is working on creating unique products that will give men the tools they need to truly express their individuality. We are all so excited to get started.”
Capture Accessories expects the first line to launch in 2023 and will be sold at mass, drug, and e-commerce channels. Retailers interested in the line can contact David Gindi at dgindi@captureaccy.com for product inquiries.
