Sesame Workshop is partnering with The Happiness Lab podcast for a three-episode series featuring licensed Sesame Street characters.
Launched in 2019, The Happiness Lab is an emotional well-being podcast that is hosted by Dr. Laurie Santos, a professor of psychology and head of Silliman College at Yale University.
In May, Santos joined Sesame Workshop executives to announce the nonprofit organization’s new focus on promoting the emotional well-being of children and families. The upcoming Sesame Workshop collaboration on The Happiness Lab podcast is intended to promote this new organization-wide initiative.
The licensed audio series will feature the vocal talents of the Sesame Street characters Abby Cadabby, Big Bird and Grover.
Utlizing the characters and songs from Sesame Street, Dr. Santos will tackle themes such as emotional regulation, reducing negative self-criticism and more.
The three episodes included in the series are Can You Tell Me How to Get to a Happier Street?; Sunny Day Everything’s A-OK: Feelings Are Like the Weather; and Sweeping the Self Criticism Away.
The Happiness Lab x Sesame Street series officially premieres on September 18, 2023. It will be available to stream on podcast services such as Pushkin, iHeartPodcasts, Apple, Spotify, YouTube, and more. Subscribers to Pushkin+ will be able to experience the entire mini-series immediately upon release.
Sesame Workshop is the nonprofit educational organization behind the Sesame Street TV show. Present in more than a hundred and fifty countries, the nonprofit organization offers a range of media, education, and social impact programs to aid vulnerable children worldwide.
