The educational tech company In KidZ has partnered with Sesame Street to create co-branded activity boxes.
The themed educational boxes will contain coloring and activity books, puzzles, games, recipe cards, and figurines intended to teach children about diversity and acceptance.
The co-branded activity boxes encourage hands-on learning while exploring different cultures, traditions and mindfulness activities.
“Teaching kids and their families about inclusion while celebrating the diversity that surrounds them will help children learn kindness and empathy,” said In KidZ Founder, Dr. Zabina Bhasin. “We wanted to facilitate kids having a screen-free opportunity to know and celebrate the diverse holidays and traditions from around the globe.
“Our goal is to encourage kids, families, and schools to celebrate and understand the things that make us different and the same so we can feel more connected,” added Bhasin. “To have the opportunity to work with a brand like Sesame Street, which paved the way for this type of learning, is profound. In this wonderful opportunity, I hope I can help pave the way for other female founders, especially those focused on making the world a better place. We are so excited and grateful.”
Dr. Bhasin is a Cornell-educated child psychiatrist that specializes in diversity and inclusion (DEI) and childrens’ mental health.
Zabina founded the In KidZ company to develop educational toys, tools and products designed to teach children crucial information about inclusion, belonging, self-care and more.
“At Sesame Street, we know playful learning that lays the foundation for children to become creative and engaged learners for life,” said Sesame Workshop SVP, Gabriela Arenas. “We’re thrilled to team up with In Kidz to celebrate our diverse world and encourage children to feel confident and proud of who they are and find joy in connecting with and learning about others.”
Sesame Workshop is the non-profit educational organization behind the Sesame Street kids show. Sesame Workshop currently works in more than a 150 countries to aid children through a variety of media, formal education, and social impact programs.
The Sesame Street x In KidZ activity boxes will be available directly to consumers on the In KidZ website and at select national retailers beginning this fall.
