Teddy Mountain has just launched a line of sustainable plush products under its new ECO Origins banner.
The line is not only sustainable in terms of the materials used, but also carries important messages about local conservation and environmental sustainability.
Florida-based Teddy Mountain is a massive wholesale supplier of DIY plush products with a vast global market, so this initiative is expected to reach a lot of people around the world. The new ECO Origins line has already launched in the US (http://www.eco-origins.com/) and in the UK (http://www.eco-origins.co.uk/), and is also available for B2B distribution in the USA, UK, EU and The Emirates.
Featuring a range of vulnerable, threatened, or endangered animal species, the ECO Origins product lineup features certified sustainable materials, including all fabrics, stitching, fiber, hang tags, fasteners, sewn-in tags and packaging.
An accordion style graphical hang tag provides an immersive learning experience with fun facts about each species featured in the plush line.
Each animal has its own dedicated QR code, linking consumers to cultural and geographic content specific to local conservation efforts in Teddy Mountain’s core markets, those being the US, UK, EU and The Emirates.
Teddy Mountain is also collaborating with partners in each of these locations, empowering customers to actively participate in targeted sustainability efforts.
Diversity Sells, But The Entertainment Industry Still Has a Long Way to Go
“While there have been numerous attempts at sustainability in similar products, many lack a transformative call to action from an educational and environmental stewardship standpoint,” said Pat Shirkey, President of Teddy Mountain LLC. “The overall intent behind the design of this new line is to inspire our brand ambassadors to engage in localized conservation efforts and eco-conscious practices. ECO Origins accomplishes this through interactivity and play and is a part of our broader Plush with a Purpose mission.”
Promoting Conservation Through Play
Ryan Davies, Director and CEO of Teddy Mountain UK/UAE, says the initiative is intended to communicate the idea that people can make changes in the world through the choices they make.
“ECO Origins inspires positive environmental change through hands-on learning and creative expression,” Davies said. “By integrating recycled materials and partnering with schools and community programs, ECO Origins addresses the growing demand for meaningful sustainability education.
“In a world where 77% of consumers are actively seeking brands that align with their environmental values, this initiative serves as a catalyst for change, nurturing a generation passionate about preserving our planet.”
The Eco Origins line is part of a much wider philosophy at Teddy Mountain that promotes wildlife and habitat protection through its Partners for Preservation program.
The initiative unites expert environmental organizations to create meaningful change in wildlife conservation and habitat protection.
Its first “Spotlight” partner, Green Kids Club, raises awareness of critical environmental issues while collaborating with groups like Elephants Without Borders, Saving the Survivors, and Blood Lions.
ECO Origins purchases are intended to directly support global conservation efforts by organizations like those, including book donations, scholarships, and educational programs that inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.
The company says its mission with ECO Origins is to create a new generation of eco-friendly, DIY plush animals that go beyond comfort, as they are made entirely from recycled materials and serve as ambassadors for conservation.
