The Tetris Company is launching an extensive lineup of licensing collaborations, partnerships and events for World Tetris Day and the brand’s 40th anniversary.
The official World Tetris Day celebrations will include a wide range of crossovers across multiple market categories such as gaming, toys, fashion, technology, art and lifestyle.

It’s a remarkable achievement for any brand, especially a video game, to transcend generations, and Tetris has firmly established itself as a cultural icon. Looking ahead, we are excited to continue evolving Tetris for future generations,” added Rogers. “We aim to innovate while preserving the core elements that have made Tetris timeless, ensuring it remains a beloved and relevant part of the gaming world for years to come.”
Tetris has partnered with Minecraft to release a branded add-on for the digital Minecraft Marketplace.
The Tetris add-on allows Minecraft players to purchase in-game Tetris-themed armor, weapons, decorative blocks and unique monsters for their gaming experience.
In addition, Tetris and Minecraft will be launching a new co-branded DLC for the Minecraft game that will offer a crossover gaming experience that merges Tetris’ puzzle-focused 2D gameplay with Minecraft’s 3D dungeon crawling experience.
The Tetris x Minecraft DLC is scheduled for launch on July 30, 2024.
In other gaming news, playSTUDIOS is releasing new gameplay features and designs for the official Tetris mobile app.
The new features include updated gameplay so players can choose between the classic Marathon mode, a faster-paced Adventure mode and new multiplayer Tetris challenges. Additionally, playSTUDIOS recently launched a new mobile game called Tetris Block Puzzle that is designed for a more casual gaming audience. The game currently features a multi-level Adventure mode and a personal high-score mode.
The Tetris Company is offering a special discount on its multi-platform Tetris Effect: Connected video game that will run from June 6 to June 17, 2024 on all major gaming platforms.
The energy formula brand G Fuel is powering up for World Tetris Day with an expanded lineup of Tetris Blast energy powder featuring custom retro-remastered Tetris art. The licensed G Fuel collection will include the limited-edition return of its rainbow candy-flavored Tetris Blast Energy Formula in a 40-serving tub, a caffeine-free Tetris Blast Hydration Formula and a co-branded G Fuel Shaker Cup that glows in the dark.
This year’s edition of the Classic Tetris World Championship (CTWC) event is set to take place at the SoCal Gaming Expo from June 7 to 9 to coincide with World Tetris celebrations. The CtWC 2024 fan event will showcase top Tetris players from around the world including defending champion Justin Yu (Fractal161), previous Tetris champions Eric Tolt (EricICX) and Michael Artiaga (DogPlayingTetris) and many more.
Franchise creator Alexey Pajitnov and Tetris Company executives, Henk Rogers and Maya Rogers, will make a special appearance at the event to greet the competitors and wish them luck as they battle their way to the top of the leaderboard.
Later this year, Tetris is releasing a new game on the Chromatic handheld device from ModRetro.
Every pre-order of a ModRetro Chromatic device will come bundled with a free copy of the Tetris game.
The online gambling company Gaming Realms and its subsidiary Blastworks Games, are offering Tetris Slingo ‘giveaways’ on their Slingo Casino and Slingo Arcade apps for the Tetris 40th anniversary milestone.
Apmex is scheduled to reveal an exclusive collection of Tetris 40th anniversary commemorative coins.
Supreme will officially debut the Tetris Mini gaming device later this summer.
Sprayground will launch two distinctive Tetris-branded bags.
Tetris and Rubik’s Cube will mark both their anniversaries with a co-branded Rubik’s Cube by Spin Master and introduce the World’s Smallest co-branded Rubik’s Cube with Super Impulse.
The Hundreds and Ilthy will both release Tetris-inspired softlines collections, and Pop Mart will continue its Tetris partnership with a new range of collectibles showcasing Kenny Wong’s artwork.
The American Red Cross and Tetris teamed up last month to inspire fans and blood donors to give blood with a t-shirt giveaway and raffle.
