WildBrain CPLG and MetaPals have signed a global licensing partnership to create digital Teletubbies AI companions for the franchise’s 27th anniversary.
MetaPals is an artificial intelligence and NFT company that primarily creates AI-driven companions through a blockchain-integrated browser extension.
Metapals is financially supported by technology and venture capital organizations such as Protocol Labs, Techstars, Tezos Foundation, and BlueYard Capital.
Through a combination of AI and blockchain technology, Metapals has developed personalized digital versions of official Teletubbies characters such as Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po.
“Through this collaboration we’re not just revisiting Teletubbyland, we’re reinventing it for the digital age,” said MetaPals CEO, Max Giammario. “By weaving in AI and blockchain, we enable the Teletubbies characters to evolve, interact, and form unique bonds with users, embodying our vision of dynamic digital companionship. With a bit of MetaPals magic, the Teletubbies are exploring beyond the hills and far away, ready to play, in ways we’ve never imagined.”
The digital Teletubbies AI characters have been designed to integrate with users’ daily browsing experiences, exhibit customized personality characteristics, offer users playful digital interactions and provide practical online assistance.
“We’re excited to see WildBrain’s Teletubbies come to life in new ways through this unique digital experience for fans,” said WildBrain CPLG VP, Ben Peace. “As we celebrate 27 years of the wildly popular Teletubbies franchise, this latest collaboration encapsulates the essence of childhood nostalgia while embracing the limitless possibilities of the digital age.”
The licensed Teletubbies AI companions will officially launch within the MetaPals browser extension game engine and platform beginning on April 20, 2024.
Each of the unique Teletubbies AI companions will come with exclusive Teletubbies branded digital accessories.
Both the licensed accessories and AI Teletubbies can be traded by their owners on secondary NFT markets and platforms after purchase.
WildBrain CPLG represents the licensing rights for the global Teletubbies brand on behalf of its parent company, Wildbrain Ltd.
