People of Play (POP), a division of The Toy Association, has named Shannon Swindle as its new Director.
POP says Swindle brings deep experience and a passion for the toy and game industry to the role.
Previously, Swindle served as Inventor Relations Manager for Games at Moose Toys. There, she successfully licensed 18 games over the past two years, including award-winning titles like Pickleball Blast.
“Joining People of Play and working alongside Mary is an incredible honor,” Swindle said. “We share the same vision—believing in play’s power to bring people together. I look forward to celebrating designers and supporting this industry I love.”
In her new role, Swindle will report to Mary Couzin, Senior Vice President and founder of People of Play. Together, they will expand POP’s key events, including POP Week, the TAGIE Awards, Young Inventor Challenge, and the Chicago Toy & Game Fair.
“Shannon is perfect for this role,” said Couzin. “She has been an integral part of our events for over a decade and is universally respected. I’ve watched her inspiring journey—from self-publisher to product development leader and inventor relations executive. Her integrity and commitment make her a natural fit for POP.”
