WildBrain CPLG has appointed veteran licensing executive Marie Kopp as its new vice president for Asia-Pacific (APAC).
Kopp will be tasked with leading the agency’s next phase of growth across APAC and MENA, excluding Greater China.
Kopp assumes the role effective immediately and will be based in Singapore. She reports to Maarten Weck, WildBrain’s EVP, Global Partnerships & Licensing, and will oversee efforts to expand commercial opportunities, deepen market presence and lead the regional team across a broad and diverse territory.
Kopp joins WildBrain CPLG following her most recent position leading Hasbro’s Consumer Products division across APAC (excluding Greater China) and MENA, where she oversaw regional growth and brand expansion initiatives. Earlier in her career, she held senior roles at Warner Bros. Discovery, The Smiley Company and The Walt Disney Company, building experience across multiple categories and markets.
Weck said Kopp’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for the business in the region.
“Marie brings a rare blend of strategic insight, regional expertise and hands-on commercial leadership across complex, fast-growing territories,” said Weck. “Her track record in scaling brand presence, forging strong partner ecosystems and unlocking new opportunities makes her an exceptional addition to our leadership team. I’m confident she will help accelerate our growth ambitions across the Asia-Pacific region and further strengthen WildBrain CPLG’s footprint in these dynamic markets.”
As part of the leadership transition, Benjamin Bao will continue in his role as General Manager, WildBrain, Greater China, steering growth in that market and reporting to Weck. Meanwhile, Ben Peace, SVP APAC, MENA & India, will depart the company at the end of February as he relocates to the U.K.
Weck acknowledged Peace’s contribution to WildBrain CPLG’s regional expansion.
“I also want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Ben for the dedication, leadership and care he has brought to our business,” he said. “His vision and commitment were instrumental in the expansion of our presence across Asia-Pacific, laying the foundation for the next phase of our growth. We wish him every success in his next chapter.”
WildBrain CPLG’s APAC portfolio includes both WildBrain-owned properties and a wide array of global partner brands. Among its key franchises are Strawberry Shortcake, Teletubbies and In the Night Garden, alongside partner properties such as Peanuts, PLAYMOBIL, Dr. Seuss, SEGA and Spin Master.
The appointment underscores WildBrain CPLG’s continued focus on strengthening its licensing operations across high-growth markets in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, with an emphasis on building local partnerships and expanding brand reach across categories.
