The British outerwear company Hunter is launching a licensed capsule collection for the hit BBC program Killing Eve.
The collection is being created in collaboration with BBC America’s and Sid Gentle Films television series Killing Eve in a deal facilitated by the global licensing company IMG.
Since its founding in Scotland more than 160 years ago, Hunter has been committed to responsibly producing products that are built to last.
“Hunter is a globally celebrated brand with a storied heritage of over 160 years and we are delighted to be collaborating with them on this capsule.” said Sally Woodward Gentle, Executive Producer of Killing Eve and CEO of Sid Gentle Films. “Their fusion of protection, functionality and style are a perfect fit for Killing Eve.”
The acclaimed series Killing Eve is broadcast to more than 140 countries and has won or been nominated for numerous awards. The series follows a British intelligence officer who is tasked with apprehending a dangerous assassin.
“We are incredibly excited to be collaborating with the cultural phenomenon that is Killing Eve, marrying our utilitarian heritage with the award-winning television series renowned for its empowered fashion moments.” said Paolo Porta, Chief Executive Officer of Hunter Boots. “These innovative boots incorporating recycled materials, strongly express the fusion of function and style, for which all Hunter iconic products are known.”
The limited-edition capsule features two new designs for the brand. ‘The Hunting’ is a mid-calf style boot available in black and olive and ‘The Chasing’ is a knee-high style, available in black, olive and camel colourways.
The collection’s utilitarian designs marry style with functionality, reinterpreting the tough and bold themes of the show to create something that could be worn in its cinematic world.
Protection and detail are at the heart of the capsule, with each design made from waterproof Stetson leather, light natural rubber and recycled ballistic nylon with a recycled vegan shearling lining. Both styles are finished with Hunter’s new chunky high-grip sole made from FSC-certified rubber.
The collection will launch exclusively with SSENSE and globally on Hunterboots.com in early February, before being available through selected stores including Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, and Liberty.
Sid Gentle Films Ltd. was founded by Woodward Gentle, Henrietta Colvin, and Lee Morris in 2013 with a focus to develop and produce original television drama and feature films. The entertainment brand BBC America is operated through a joint venture by AMC Networks and the BBC.
