Rovio has signed a licensing partnership with the Boyhood design company for a line of wooden Angry Birds 15th anniversary collectibles.
The licensing agreement with Boyhood was facilitated by IMG’s dedicated licensing division on behalf of Rovio Entertainment’s Angry Birds mobile gaming franchise.
Founded in 2019, Boyhood is a family-owned and operated design company that offers high-quality wooden collectibles and art pieces by the Danish artist and woodworker, Jakob Burgsø.
Since its initial creation, the Boyhood company has produced licensed wooden collectibles for well-known entertainment and pop-culture brands such as Hello Kitty, Snoopy, Moomintroll, Gingerbread Man, Gummy Bear, Playmobil and more.
“I am ecstatic and incredibly proud to have successfully forged this partnership with Angry Birds,” said Boyhood founder, Jakob Burgsø. “I have always admired Red and his friends.

“An opportunity like this is rare, and I am honored to design a selection of wooden collectibles of some of the world’s most beloved game characters,” added Burgsø. “The result is phenomenal, and I believe we have once again created an icon that will endure for generations.”
The Angry Birds x Boyhood anniversary collection will feature detailed wooden collectibles of the brand’s flagship characters, Red, Chuck and Bomb, who appeared in Rovio’s first Angry Birds mobile game in 2009.
Like all of Boyhood’s products, the Angry Birds collectibles will be crafted using high-quality European FSC-certified wood materials including white oak, beech wood and smoke-stained oak.
“Rovio and the Angry Birds team are thrilled to announce our new collaboration with Boyhood,” said Rovio licensing head Katri Chacona. “The astonishing craftsmanship that is brought to our beloved characters is truly remarkable. The finished products are a testament of Boyhood’s skill and dedication, and we couldn’t be more excited to share these high-quality wooden collectibles with Angry Birds fans everywhere.”
The Angry Birds 15th Anniversary wooden figure collection will be available for purchase starting in Fall 2024.
Owned by Sega, Rovio Entertainment Corporation is a global company that focuses on creating, developing, publishing and licensing interactive mobile games.
