Cardsmiths has released Currency Series 5, the largest product launch in its history, expanding its portfolio of art-driven trading cards with a collection that blends traditional finance themes with blockchain culture.
The series is now available through Cardsmiths’ website and select retail partners.
The new set features returning artists Gunship Revolution Studios, Jon McTavish, Rachid Lotf and Thomas Zahler, along with several first-time contributors. Among the newcomers is Sam Flores, whose inclusion broadens the stylistic range of the series.
In a major addition for collectors, street pop artist Mr Brainwash has joined the Cardsmiths roster for the first time. Best known for the documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop and his Los Angeles museum, Mr Brainwash contributed several exclusive pieces, including the one-of-one “Mona Lisa HODL” trading card positioned as a marquee item in the release.
Currency Series 5 expands the chase element with a wider range of rare inserts, including Holofoil parallels, super-short prints, and Cardsmiths’ Meta-Rare Refractor and Gemstone Refractor cards.
The company is also offering its largest lineup of Cryptocurrency Redemption Cards to date, redeemable for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Dogecoin. The collection includes several top-tier redemptions, such as multiple 1 BTC and 1 ETH cards.
A highlight of the release is a unique, one-of-one Bitcoin Card designed as a physical representation of the digital asset, separate from any redemption program. Cardsmiths describes the card as a fusion of tangible art and blockchain symbolism.
“We’re always looking to push the boundaries of what collectible art can be,” said Steve Loney, CEO of Cardsmiths. “Currency Series 5 delivers an experience unlike anything else in the hobby, and we’re going bigger than ever with this latest release.”
The series continues Cardsmiths’ strategy of combining art, cultural themes and emerging technology to appeal to a global collector base. Currency Series 5 is available while supplies last.
