Target and Champion have signed a multi-year licensing partnership to launch an extensive product line that spans apparel, accessories, sporting goods and more.
Currently owned by Authentic Brands Group, Champion is a long-standing fashion label that offers a full range of high-quality active-wear and functional performance accessories.
“As one of the most recognizable names in apparel, Champion’s presence at Target—a retailer known for its strong connection to the consumer and intentional assortment—marks a significant moment,” said Authentic Brands Group CEO, Jamie Salter. “This partnership underscores Champion’s enduring influence and strategic growth as we introduce the brand in a meaningful way through one of the most respected retailers in the market.”
Designed to offer a fresh take on the Champion brand’s signature style, the licensed collection will feature trendy colors, premium fabrics and detailed trims.
The Champion collection for Target will offer more than 500 items for both adults and children.
“When you combine Champion’s legacy in sportswear with Target’s style authority, the result is something special,” said Target EVP, Rick Gomez. “We know our consumers love new and differentiated items, and this partnership is all about merging sport, style and culture in a relevant way that resonates with them,” added Gomez. “I can’t wait for everyone to experience this on-trend, high-quality and irresistibly affordable assortment with styles only at Target.”
The first Champion collection will launch at Target during August 2025.
Following the initial release, Champion will debut a limited-edition varsity-inspired apparel collection in September.
The varsity apparel line will be prominently featured on Target’s e-commerce platforms and in a dedicated section of its retail stores.
