Penguin Random House and Amazon MGM Studios are launching an extensive publishing program based on the Wednesday TV series.
Penguin Random House LLC is a global publishing company that provides products across numerous publishing formats including board books, novels, activity books, non-fiction, picture books and more.
Launching in summer and fall of 2024, the Wednesday publishing program will include a wide variety of titles for all age demographics.
The licensed products from Penguin Random House and its subsidiary divisions will include a Wednesday: Official Coloring Book, an I Am Wednesday Little Golden Book, Wednesday: The Official Nightshade Society Journal, Wednesday: A Novelization Of Season One, The Official Wednesday Cookbook and more.
“It’s almost terrifying how monstrously popular Wednesday Addams has become since the series launch on Netflixand Penguin Random House couldn’t be more thrilled to embark on a worldwide publishing collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios to celebrate the beloved anti-heroine,” said Random House Children’s Books VP, Christopher Angelilli. “Our eclectic program includes something for readers of all ages—from a Little Golden Book to cookbooks to tarot cards—and offers fans of the series new ways to enjoy their favorite show during the wait between seasons.”
From Random House Books for Young Readers, The Wednesday: Official Coloring Book will feature highly detailed black-and-white illustrations that are inspired by characters and themes from the Netflix series.
Random House Books for Young Readers is also responsible for publishing both the I Am Wednesday Little Golden Book and Wednesday: A Novelization Of Season One.
The Little Golden Book is intended to introduce children between the ages of 3 and 5 to the Wednesday Addams character brand.
Random House Books for Young Readers will also publish Wednesday: A Novelization Of Season One by acclaimed author, Tehlor Kay Mejia.
The contents of the novel will be based on scripts from the Wednesday Netflix series by Alfred Gough, Miles Millar, Kayla Alpert, April Blair, and Matt Lambert.
From the Random House Worlds division, The Official Wednesday Cook Book by Mari Mancusi will feature 60 different recipes that are inspired by licensed characters, moments and themes from the first season of the Wednesday series.
Wednesday: The Official Nightshade Society Journal will include official quotes from the Wednesday Netflix series, high-quality paper for writing and sketching and a dot-grid design.
The licensed Wednesday journal will be released through Crown Publishing Group’s Clarkson Potter imprint.
A Wednesday-themed board game and tarot deck is also scheduled to launch from the Clarkson Potter imprint in 2025.
Produced by Amazon MGM Studios’ MGM Television division, Wednesday is a supernatural mystery series that follows Wednesday Addams as she attempts to solve monstrous murders, control her psychic abilities and navigate student life at the Nevermore Academy.
