Falcon’s Beyond has began development on its first animated preschool series based on characters from its Katmandu entertainment franchise.
This announcement follows the launch of the company’s second Katmandu Theme Park in Punta Cana, which officially opened to the public on March 15, 2023.
The upcoming preschool show features Boro the Yeti, one of the characters first introduced at the original Katmandu theme park in Mallorca, Spain.
“Yetis have quickly become beloved by visitors of our Katmandu theme parks, especially our youngest guests, so when we started to explore new entertainment concepts, we all agreed yetis were perfect leads for our first preschool series,” said Falcon’s Beyond CEO, Cecil D. Magpuri. “With the recent opening of Katmandu Park in the Dominican Republic receiving tremendous fanfare, our consumer products program, digital games, and now our first series in development, we are proud to see our 360-degree approach to expanding IP come to life.”
The animated series will follow the adventures of Boro and several young yetis as they go on missions across Katmandu. Licensed Katmandu characters and locations such as Kilgore Goode, Busby the Robot, and the upside-down house will also appear in the show.
Additional information on the Katmandu animated series such as its distribution partner, creative team and title is expected to be released in the coming months.
Falcon’s Beyond is an experiential entertainment development company. The company specializes in expanding both proprietary and partner IPs to global markets through theme parks, patented technologies, films, licensed consumer products, and more.
