Franck Muller and Bamford Watch Department have released a limited-edition Popeye Vanguard watch.
The Popeye brand is owned by King Features Syndicate. A unit of Hearst, King Features is a global producer and distributor of intellectual properties, character licensing and franchise development.
“As a watch collector, collaborating with Franck Muller, who is the epitome of class and style, is a dream come true,’ said Jarred Goro, Vice President of North American licensing at King Features.
“Popeye and BWD have a long history together, but this latest partnership with Franck Muller to deliver the Vanguard elevates Popeye’s position as a fashion icon to a whole new level.”
Founded in 1991, Franck Muller is an independent, luxury watch manufacturer based in Switzerland. Bamford Watch Department is a luxury watch manufacturer based in the UK that is known for its limited-edition designs and licensing collaborations.
The co-branded Franck Muller and Bamford Watch Department product is available in either black or rose gold. It features Popeye on the watch dial with his forearms as the hour and minute hands. In addition, an image of the Swee’Pea character is used as the seconds hand.
The packaging of the Popeye Vanguard watch includes an original comic strip by Randy Milholland that was created for the licensing collaboration.
The Popeye Vanguard watch is available for purchase online from Bamford Watch Department and at select Franck Muller retailers around the world.
