HTeaO and Tony’s Chocolonely have launched a licensing collaboration for a limited-edition Tony’s Chocolonely Peanut Butter Latte.
The new latte is made using HTeaO’s Free Rein Homestead espresso, whole milk, Monin Peanut Butter and Cookie Butter syrups, whipped cream topping and shavings from Tony’s milk chocolate bar.
Despite its peanut butter flavoring, the beverage was created to be safe for those with nut allergies.
“Partnering with HTeaO is a delicious step toward making ethical chocolate the norm, not the exception,” said Tony’s Chocolonely marketing VP, Aidaly Sosa Walker. “With every bar sold at HTeaO’s stores, we’re bringing our mission to end exploitation in the cocoa industry to even more people. To celebrate, we’re sprinkling a little sweetness on HTeaO’s new peanut butter lattes.”
Available from October 1 through November 15, the co-branded beverage can be purchased iced or hot at participating HTeaO café locations.
HTeaO’s café’s hosted a special Reverse Happy Hour event on October 1 to celebrate the new launch.
“This collaboration brings together two brands that share a passion for crafting products people feel good about,” said HTeaO president, Heath Nielsen. “Tony’s Chocolonely is known for making incredible chocolate while leading the charge toward a fairer cocoa industry, and we’re excited to spotlight that mission in a new way while also growing awareness of our Free Rein coffee partnership.”
During the event, guests were offered a buy one, get one free on any drink from the coffee menu including the Tony’s Peanut Butter Latte, tea lattes and hot chocolate.
HTeaO is an iced tea and café franchise that specializes in high-quality beverages offed through both in-store and drive-thru services.
“As much as HTeaO is known for iced tea, we see tremendous opportunity to innovate in the coffee space,” said Nielsen. “The Tony’s Chocolonely Peanut Butter Latte is a perfect example of how we can bring exciting, unexpected flavors to our Free Rein coffee lineup and create something new for guests to enjoy as the seasons change.”
Founded in 2005, Tony’s Chocolonely is an impact company that builds equitable, long-term relationships with cocoa farmers to create fair-trade chocolate and combat worker exploitation.
The company was founded by three Dutch journalists dedicated to raising awareness of and eliminating inequality in the chocolate industry in partnership with cocoa plantations.
