Kids Preferred and Toho Stomp into Toy Aisle with Godzilla Plush

December 9, 2025

By Allison Watkinson
TLL Reporter
Kids Preferred has signed a licensing agreement with Toho International to produce a line of Godzilla plush and soft toys.
Per the terms of the partnership, Kids Preferred will develop a collection of stylized plush and soft toys based on characters and creatures from the kaiju franchise.
The company plans to draw from Toho’s expansive range of monster designs and in-universe lore to create the licensed plush collection.
“We’re excited to launch this soft toy line for collectors of all ages,” said Kid Preferred president, Larry Presser.
The Godzilla soft toy line is expected to launch in Spring 2026 on the Kids Preferred Amazon storefront, as well as through select retail partners.
Toho International is the US-based subsidiary company of the Japanese entertainment studio, Toho.
The subsidiary is responsible for managing the licensing rights to the Godzilla brand outside of Japan.
Toho is the creator of the long-standing Godzilla franchise which debuted in Japan in 1954 with a ground-breaking feature film from director Ishirō Honda.
Since its creation, the franchise has expanded to include numerous movies, TV series, published works, interactive games and in-person activations.
In addition to entertainment, the Godzilla brand can be found across a comprehensive global licensing program that spans toys, collectibles, gaming, apparel, accessories, food and more.
Kids Preferred is an American design and manufacturing company that offers high-quality toys, gifts and play items for infants and young children.
The company’s products are based on its portfolio of wholly-owned brands, as well as licensed third-party properties from children’s literature, family entertainment and pop-culture.
