Gravity Interactive and UP&E have launched a licensed Kung Fu Panda integration within the developer’s Ragnarok Online video game.
The in-game collaboration brings licensed characters, cosmetics and items from DreamWorks Animation’s Kung Fu Panda film series to Ragnarok Online’s multi-player world, Prontera.
Running from April 15 to May 13, the four-week event introduces Kung Fu Panda characters like Po, Zhen and Shifu into Prontera as official event NPCs.
Players will be able to train alongside Po and Master Shifu in specially designed gameplay scenarios and trade exclusive event coins with Zhen for in-game rewards.
The event rewards available to players include power-enhancing food items and collectible Kung Fu Panda floppy dolls.
Throughout the collaboration, Ragnarok Online users can also access cosmetics and accessories that are based on characters from the licensed Dreamworks films.
Each cosmetic item was designed to maintain the character’s authenticity while also fitting naturally into Ragnarok Online’s signature art style.
First launched in 2002, Ragnarok Online is a long-standing MMORPG that takes place in a huge, interconnected world inspired by Norse mythology.
Using a blend of 2D character sprites and 3D environments, the game offers players freedom to explore, battle, socialize and customize their look through their in-game avatars.
Now in its third decade of continuous operation, Ragnarok Online has maintained its player base through its core gameplay mechanics, strategic licensing collaborations and regular content refreshes.
A wholly-owned subsidiary of Gravity Co., Gravity Interactive is responsible for bringing Gravity games to players across multiple international territories.
