The LEGO Group has announced Bowser as the latest addition to the licensed LEGO Super Mario Adult product line.
The newly released product is the Mighty Bowser building kit which is a highly detailed recreation of the King of the Koopas. Once built, the Bowser kit features controllable movements and the ability to launch a fireball made from LEGO.
“Adding LEGO Super Mario: The Mighty Bowser really is a blast from the past for many Adult Fans of LEGO,” said Carl Merriam, Senior Designer for LEGO Super Mario. “He might be the big boss, but he still brings back a warm feeling of nostalgia to adult Super Mario fans worldwide.
“Just as defeating Bowser was always the ultimate challenge in the Super Mario games, here we’re challenging fans to build the King of the Koopas from nearly 3,000 pieces,” added Merriam. “We know they’re up to the task and will be chomping at the bit to get their hands on this great new addition to the Super Mario line.”
The set is the latest product from the LEGO and Nintendo partnership, which first launched in 2020. The Adult line incorporates a range of Super Mario-themed building kits, each designed to encourage nostalgia from LEGO and Mario fans alike.
Consumers that own a LEGO Super Mario Starter Course can choose to battle Bowser against LEGO Mario, Luigi or Peach, allowing for immersive and digitally enhanced play.
All Starter Courses, Expansion Sets and Character Packs in the LEGO Super Mario universe offer fans new ways to expand, rebuild, and customize their favorite moments from the iconic Super Mario video game franchise.
The Mighty Bowser kit includes step-by-step instructions for assembly and will be up for sale from October 1st, 2022 on the official LEGO website and from select retailers around the world.
“Bowser is, quite simply, the ultimate boss – and we’re delighted to announce that we’re introducing this oversized version to the LEGO Super Mario adult line for a little added peril,” said Carl Merriam.
“Since we launched LEGO Super Mario two years ago, we’ve been on such a journey – gradually expanding with the most iconic and recognizable characters of the LEGO Super Mario universe.”
