Saputo USA (SUSA) has debuted a licensed Montchevre goat cheese collaboration with Mike’s Hot Honey at the Specialty Food Association’s Summer Fancy Food Show.
Created in 2010 by Mike Hurtz, Mike’s Hot Honey is an American condiment brand that uses 100% pure honey infused with real chili peppers.
Mike initially sold the condiment in small-batch, hand-labeled Hot Honey bottles to visitors of his pizzeria, as well as other local restaurants and businesses.
Mike’s Hot Honey can now be found in thousands of restaurants and retailers throughout the U.S. and Canada.
“Two high demand brands coming together to bring an innovative new flavor to consumers is a match made in cheese heaven,” said SUSA marketing director, Jenny Englert. “The combo of this beloved sweet heat paired with our delicious goat cheese is unmatched.”
First founded in 1989, Montchevre is a high-quality goat cheese brand that uses a combination of traditional French goat’s milk cheese-making techniques with Wisconsin cheese-making methods.
Montchevre currently offers a variety of specialty goat cheese products and flavors including plain, hibiscus berry, jalapeño honey, spiced pumpkin and more.

“At Mike’s Hot Honey we believe everything is better with the perfect kick of sweet heat,” said Mike’s Hot Honey creator, Mike Kurtz. “Goat cheese has always been one of my favorite foods to drizzle Mike’s Hot Honey on, so I’m excited for this collaboration to hit grocery shelves later this year so everyone can enjoy this delicious flavor combination too.”
The licensing collaboration with Saputo USA’s Montchevre brand was brokered by Brandgenuity on behalf of its client, Mike’s Hot Honey.
Brandgenuity is a global licensing agency that specializes in extending brands into new products, services and experiences.
Retailers and attendees of the Specialty Food Association’s Summer Fancy Food Show were allowed to sample the new Hot Honey Goat Cheese product from June 23 to 25, 2024 ahead of its official debut in the retail market in September.
