Moonbug Entertainment has appointed Courtney Holt as the company’s new managing director for the Americas.
In his new role at Moonbug, Holt will lead the commercial teams in North America, with a particular focus on the Moonbug’s Originals division.
Holt will work with the teams at Moonbug’s Originals to manage the distribution of the company’s long-form film and TV content. This will include content for Moonbug’s wholly-owned family entertainment brands such as CoComelon, Blippi and more.
“As a parent, I’m inspired by Moonbug’s ability to craft CoComelon, Blippi and other shows with creativity and care,” said Holt. “Millions of families love these shows because they’re fun and enriching. I’m excited to forge new partnerships and amplify current ones so these shows can resonate with more families in the region.”
Holt first joined Moonbug earlier this year as the company’s first global head of music and strategic audio initiatives. His responsibilities from that role will carry over to his new position as managing director.
Prior to joining Moonbug, Holt spent three decades working in leadership roles at the Spotify audio streaming company.
He also gained experience working in executive management positions at other high-profile companies such as The Walt Disney Company, Viacom and Universal Music Group.
Holt’s new position at Moonbug was previously held by Andy Yeatman, who is departing the company to pursue a different career opportunity.
“Courtney’s track record in building and scaling media and music programs will be vital to bringing Moonbug’s brands to the next stage,” said Moonbug Entertainment CEO, René Rechtman.
“His creativity, passion and relationships will help us deepen and expand our connection with fans across North America, our biggest market,” added Rechtman. “Andy’s leadership was crucial to our growth in the Americas. We’re grateful for his contributions and wish him the best in his next endeavor.”
Part of Candle Media, Moonbug is a global company that specializes in creating, developing, producing and licensing family-friendly entertainment franchises. Moonbug’s film and TV content is available through a global network of more than 150 distribution and broadcasting partners.
The company also offers a broad selection of licensed consumer products, live events, music and audio experiences.
The company’s branded music and audio content is distributed through a wide range of audio-based streaming platforms.
