Paragon FX Group has partnered with Warner Bros CP to develop a licensed Batman replica called the 89 Batman: Modular Utility Grapnel Set.
The Paragon FX Group is a recently-established toy and collectible manufacturing company that specializes in creating detailed replicas of film props.
The limited-edition 89 Batman set contains a machined aluminum hand unit, a grapnel utility attachment, a utility dart, a bolo attachment with fixed aircraft cable, a custom equipment case with a laser cut insert, and a certificate of authenticity.
The collectible is based on a prop from the Warner Bros.1989 Batman film. Paragon FX’s team of artists and engineers spent 12 months meticulously recreating the prop device using CNC machined aluminum.
“We knew from the beginning that this would be one of our largest and most ambitious projects,” said Paragon’s creative director, Tyler Ham. “The goal was to engineer a full-size replica that looks and feels like a real piece of Batman’s tech. We wanted everything to be cold to the touch and have a real-world heft and feel.”
Paragon FX Group aims its products at adult and teenaged collectors of toys and games. According to a recent report by the NPD Group, adult and teen consumers are responsible for approximately one-fourth of all toy sales. The report also stated that the adult and teen demographic is the largest driver of growth for the global toys and games industry.
The limited-release of Paragon FX’s 89 Batman: Modular Utility Grapnel Set will include only 1,000 units. The product set can currently be viewed and pre-reserved on the company’s official ecommerce website.
