The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation has partnered with Surya on two licensed handmade rug collections.
Hand-crafted by skilled artisans in India, the co-branded rug collections feature a monochromatic color palette and geometric patterns inspired by Wright’s architectural designs.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation to bring Wright’s legendary designs to life in the form of stunning rugs,” said Surya president, Satya Tiwari. “We believe this collaboration will inspire and captivate design enthusiasts around the world.”
Frank Lloyd Wright was an American architect, educator and home designer that focused on principles of organic architecture and geometric designs.
Named Transcendence and Luxuries, the new licensed rug collections feature precise geometric designs and organic motifs inspired by Wright’s architectural style.
The Transcendence collection is made from hand-knotted New Zealand wool with viscose rayon accents.
The Luxuries collection is crafted from hand loomed wool and features a rectilinear grid pattern that Wright often used as the foundation for his decorative and architectural designs.
“Wright believed that the beautiful objects we surround ourselves with enrich our lives, and we at the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation feel that these exquisite rugs from Surya in rich textures and delightful forms will greatly improve the lives of those who purchase them,” said Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation director, Sally Russell.
A portion of proceeds from the sale of the licensed rug collection will be used to support the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation’s mission to preserve architecture, provide education and fund philanthropic programs.
The licensing partnership with Surya was brokered by Jewel Branding & Licensing on behalf of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation.
The new licensed rug collections will debut at the Spring High Point Market in the Surya showroom at Showplace 4100 from April 11 to April 17, 2024.
Surya is a home furnishings brand that specializes in designing rugs, furniture, lighting, wall decor and textiles.
The brand currently offers more than 80,000 products that are sold through a global network of retailers, ecommerce platforms and interior designer organizations.
