Tonies and Pikachu Press have announced a partnership to bring licensed Pokémon content to the Toniebox storytelling system.
The collaboration will introduce immersive Pokémon-themed stories in an audio format created exclusively for the Toniebox by the Pikachu Press publishing imprint.
“Welcoming Pokémon to the Toniebox platform is a milestone for our company and our community,” Said Tonies CEO, Tobias Wann. “By combining Pokémon’s global appeal with our audio-first innovation, we’re creating new opportunities for discovery, imagination, and play for millions of children and families,” added Wann. “We are preparing a very special and exciting bundle for the launch which we cannot wait to unveil.”
Designed to appeal to children and toddlers, the initial range will launch in summer 2026 with four Pokémon Tonies that feature Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle.
The collaboration plans to create additional licensed products and content in the future.
“We are always seeking new ways to connect with our fans and share the spirit of adventure that is core to the Pokémon brand,” said Pokémon Company International senior director, Heather Dalgleish Parker. “Partnering with tonies allows us to explore the world of audio-first storytelling and create immersive experiences that spark curiosity, creativity, and imagination,” added Dalgleish Parker. “Through this collaboration, we can inspire and engage a new generation of young Trainers and invite families to discover our stories together in a fresh and meaningful format.”
Tonies is a global interactive toy company that is known for its Toniebox audio entertainment system.
Designed to help children with screen-free play and independent learning, the Toniebox system offers a portfolio of approximately 500 Tonies figurines, 12 Tonieplay games and over 3,500 digital titles through the mytonies library and app.
This includes a wide range of original titles and third-party content from around 460 different licensing partners.
“Pokémon and tonies share similar values around imagination, play, and connection across generations,” said Tonies chief experience officer, Ginny McCormick. “Parents who grew up on Pokémon now get to share that same sense of wonder with their kids. Bringing Pokémon into the tonies world lets us reimagine how those stories are told: through sound, without screens or limits. It’s a new way for families to experience the brand.”
Pikachu Press is the official publishing imprint of The Pokémon Company International.
A subsidiary of The Pokémon Company in Japan, Pokémon Company International is responsible for managing the rights to the popular entertainment property outside of Asia.
This includes the management, licensing, marketing and development of the Pokémon franchise’s TCG, TV series, films, games, official website and more.
