Online therapy provider PresenceLearning has partnered with Hasbro to bring popular licensed characters and games to its platform.
Through this partnership speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other mental health professionals will be able to use the exclusive digital adaptations to enhance their online therapy sessions.
“Our partnership with Hasbro is part of a broader initiative to offer a next-generation therapy platform that helps providers deliver fun, engaging and effective therapy sessions,” said Kate Eberle Walker, CEO of PresenceLearning.
“We’re excited for the potential to create more dynamic therapy experiences by incorporating these iconic characters and games into therapy activities. When children carry over content experiences from their therapy sessions into their play at home, it helps them to make connections and practice skills that can support their progress.”
PresenceLearning has modified the Hasbro games to facilitate cooperative play, problem-solving skills, and visual perception skills.
The first Hasbro game to be developed allows clinicians to engage students with a 2D version of Potato Head. Using a variety of backgrounds and Potato Head parts, therapists can use this game to engage students as they work to address their therapy goals.
Clue Jr. is another licensed property that is being added to the youth-focused therapy platform. The game aims to help children build their vocabulary and expressive language as they work on inferencing, turn taking, problem solving, and social skills.
The third property that has been adapted to the platform is Candy Land. Clinicians aim to use the game to work with students on critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
PresenceLearning is currently the only online therapy program that features this suite of licensed Hasbro characters.
“We’re proud to work with PresenceLearning to bring our family of brands to their platform,” said Julien McCluney, VP Global Brands – Gaming, Hasbro. “We hope our beloved, instantly recognizable characters will help children engage with the PresenceLearning platform and empower clinicians and therapists in their important work.”
With the addition of the Hasbro properties, PresenceLearning continues to invest in building a content library that can tailor each student’s therapy session to their individual needs. The platform features a full range of licensed games from other companies, as well as activities and worksheets.
To date, PresenceLearning has delivered more than 3 million therapy sessions to hundreds of schools and districts in the U.S. It has recently opened its therapy platform to individual and group practices. Investors in the company include Spectrum Equity, TPG’s The Rise Fund, Bain Capital Double Impact, and Catalyst Investors.
